888.566.8303Columbus, MS - The Northeast Mississippi Job Fair was held at the EMCC campus in Mayhew on April 2, 2009. This event gave attendees an opportunity to meet with over 50 possible employers. EMCC also provided professionals on hand to review resumes', give mock interviews, and help prepare candidates for job interviews. The fair was open to students of EMCC, Mississippi University for Women, Mississippi State University and other colleges from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Public attendance was open from noon to 2:30 p.m.
The CPI Group, Inc. had two recruiters present to help reach out to the candidates and answer any questions they had about using an employment agency to help them find work. Employment agencies help expand the candidate's job search options since some companies may only hire through agencies. The CPI Group, places candidates based on job skills; we employ people in industrial, clerical, and professional work.
CPI President Mark Smith stated, "EMCC is a very solid partner for economic development in this region, we are proud of them for hosting this event and we are happy to be a part of it".
An emphasis of this year's job fair was preparedness. Linda Gates says, "It's also true that the economy is sluggish right now and jobs can be hard to find. But some economic indicators are beginning to show bright spots and real signs that the job market should be looking better in the next few months. And when that happens, you need to be ready to move fast. ... This year's fair can help you do that."
