888.566.8303Columbus, MS - On Friday, July 31, 2009, United Way kicked off their Pacesetter campaign, a preliminary fundraising campaign among area businesses that concluded on September 4, 2009 raising a total of $176,356.38 toward the overall goal of $600,00. The CPI Group, Inc. was able to increase their annual pacesetter donations this year by including staff and temp employees.
Mark Smith of CPI stated "United Way's mission is to improve lives in our community. The best way to do this is by focusing on the underlying causes to our community's most serious human services problems. The United Way brings together neighborhoods, agencies, businesses, labor, government, schools and volunteers-because together, we achieve results no one group alone can accomplish."
The CPI Group believes that we have a responsibility to do our part to build and maintain a strong community. That is why we have been a proud supporter of the annual United Way of Lowndes County Campaign for a number of years.
