CPI Group, Inc. awards Lowndes County high school student with its yearly Steven King Memorial Scholarship

Raye Ann Cook of New Hope High School recently received the Steven King Memorial Scholarship as the top area High School senior of Lowndes County. Mark A. Smith, President and Owner of CPI Group Inc. founded the scholarship in 1998 to honor his fellow U.S. Marine, Steven Scott King, a native of Columbus. King was killed in the line of duty in 1998 while stationed in California. He completed 2 overseas tours and was a decorated veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
